When Pinterest France asked us to style and produce a conference for bloggers in Paris we were over the moon! We crafted a unique 'Evening of Ideas' to inspire 100 bloggers specialised in fashion, home deco, lifestyle and food. Our main objective was to showcase emerging trends in the virtual world of Pinterest and bring them into the real world - for one night only.
IDEA GENERATION & CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT: We considered it crucial that the theme of ‘discovery’ was a thread that ran throughout the execution of the event from the arrival at the venue, to the entertainment, handmade decorations, cocktail menu featuring DIY recipes and beyond...
DESIGN & STYLING: We developed ideas to decorate the venue to reflect the overall look and feel of Pinterest which also translated in appeal to the Pinterest tastemaker community. We weaved in social media ‘sharing moments’ such as a flower market abundant with 'on trend' varieties of flowers, a game of chance, live illustrations and a surprise dessert wall.
VENUE SCOUTING: We researched and presented a shortlist of recommended venues in central Paris which reflected the style and creative direction of Pinterest, complemented the tone of a similar event they held in London a few months earlier and would appeal to the blogger community in France.
PARTNERSHIPS: We selected and secured partnerships and co-promotional opportunities with brands which fitted with the overall look and feel of the event.
FOOD & BEVERAGE: We hand-picked caterers that we knew would make the event a gastronomical encounter - when briefing caterers we placed an emphasis on colourful and innovative presentation with excellent flavour combinations. We created a cocktail bar featuring cocktail and scented candle pairing to create a truly sensory experience. The cocktail menu featured DIY recipes so that guests could take it home and create their own.
LIVE ILLUSTRATIONS: We worked with the Pinterest team to select Jessie Kanelos Weiner to create live illustrations during the evening in a recreation of her studio.
EVENT BRANDING: We created a visual identity for the event encompassing the programme, cocktail menu, stage branding, welcome sign and quiz banners. All graphics and printed collateral were consistent and ensured the event was owned by Pinterest. The stage branding successfully put Pinterest’s stamp on a venue that already had its own unique look and feel.
The event created the 'wow effect' we were aiming for and successfully positioned Pinterest as the ultimate destination for ideas. We increased engagement with #PInterestFR on social media, with over 40 tweets shared during and after the event which reached over 102,000 people. Photos that were shared on instagram reached over 52,000 people.
