From concerts, traditional festivities to sailing and yacht festivals in Cannes, Nice, Saint Paul de Vence, Monaco and Saint-Tropez there's plenty to keep locals and tourists entertained during the summer months.

1. La Nuit du Sud 7th July - 23rd July 2016

Nuit du Sud

This festival of music from all over the world takes place in the main Square in Vence every year with concerts programmed each weekend. Tickets cost from €23 for adults and are available to purchase on the website. For more information visit this link.

2. Bastille Day - 14th July 2016

This annual public holiday commemorates the storming of the Bastille on 14th July 1789 which started the French Revolution. There will be firework displays all over France including the famous display at the Eiffel Tower. Those living on the French Riviera can enjoy firework displays in Nice and Pampelonne beach in Saint Tropez as well as smaller displays in villages along the coast.

3.   Fête Patronale de Saint-Claire Saint Paul de Vence -  5-7 August 2016

Every year the quaint village of Saint Paul de Vence hosts a big party 'bal' with wonderful food, music, dancing and culminates with a spectacular fireworks display. The event is designed to celebrate one of the patron saints of the village 'Sainte Claire'. This is a family event with a carousel for the children and local delicacies such as 'socca' which is one of the specialities of Nice. This beautifully designed event make the village of Saint-Paul come to life and is free for locals and tourists who would like to attend.

4. Cannes Yachting Festival - 6-11 September 2016

Cannes Yachting Festival

This year there will be over 500 boats on display in the 'Vieux Port' and the Port Pierre Canto. Created in 1977, the festival now attracts over 50,000 visitors and over 600 boats. The festival also includes 'La Terrasse' which is situated on the rooftop of the Palais des Festivals and enables visitors to have a 180 degree view of the port as well as browsing stands hosted by luxury brands. 5. Les Voiles de St Tropez – 24th September - 2nd October 

Les Voiles de Saint Tropez

The popular destination of Saint Tropez hosts one of the largest and most famous sailing regattas, 'Les Voiles de St Tropez'. Started in 1981 under the name of 'Club 55 Cup', the event now welcomes over 300 sailing boats which take part in the spectacular regatta which is one of the most important events in the yachting calendar.
